Dickie Garnett's journey began at age 8 when he watched home improvement shows on PBS, sparking his passion for construction. He started working in the industry at 16, learning the ropes from framing crews. While at Boston University, he assisted friends in real estate with small projects. After earning his Contractor's License and graduating Cum Laude, he established his contracting company in Massachusetts.

Over a decade as a general contractor, Dickie became an EPA Certified Lead Safe Renovator and engaged with local government and historic districts. However, the demands of both building and parenting led him to explore new avenues. In 2013, he transitioned to becoming a State Licensed Home Inspector in NH (#293) and joined the American Society for Home Inspectors (ASHI).

Dickie's commitment to education and the industry led him to serve on the board of the Northern New England Chapter of ASHI, where he currently holds the position of Treasurer. Through this role, he stays informed about home science and building standards, contributing to the growth and excellence of the organization.
